Giving it a 7 because the views are good, although not that clear this morning. Parked at Leswidden Farm gateway then followed path but tried to head across country - big mistake this time of the year!! The gorse, heather and bracken were at their sturdiest and it took me a long time to cover a short stretch. Got there in the end though. Coming from Leswidden, skirt past Carn Glaze and follow track to the farm at 391296. There is a path directly up to the trig, roughly as marked on the 1:50000.

After a lot of driving down narrow lanes (again!), I parked at Higher Numphra farm. Up the road and took second path on rhs. There is a well used path with a junction of paths marked on the OS map but they have completely disappeared. I kept on the path to a pair of stone posts and left over a low wall. By keeping on this path, I arrived at the pillar. According to my gps, none of this path existed! Rewarded with very good views.

I used the Carn Brea car park then took the obvious path to the nature reserve for a direct route towards the summit and trig. A loud cuckoo provided music for my walk.
