Noticed these two landmarks on previous occasions, notably when taking the wrong route out of Sutton-in-Craven in search of Worlds Hill. One of the finest short walks in the country - taking in this one and Lunds Tower. Stunning views all round !

Walked the half-mile along the ridge from Lund Tower where there is a minor road nearby. Wainman's Pinnacle was built in 1816 by Richard Wainman, a local landowner to celebrate the victory at Waterloo and, more sombrely, the death of his son in the Napoleonic wars. Good views towards Pendle Hill and Airedale

Retrospective log. Station marked with a trig symbol on OS 'South Pennines' 1:25000 map. Several visits including searches for a bolt or rivet on the gritstone before finding out that its an intersected point. Windy views across the Aire valley. Another monument, Lunds Tower, is nearby.
