2/3 on return to Hulme End after completing another section of the Manifold Trail. Lovely village, very quiet and untouristy. Found the CBM, but very eroded. Highly recommend continuing to Ecton Hill via Wetton Hill and Back of Ecton. I gift the 3 trigs today to silence, only the sound of birds, my footfall and the wind. So peaceful.

St Margaret's Church, Grade II* listed. 14thC tower, remainder rebuilt 1820. OS lists Bolt, Centre and Pinnacle as components of this trig. Former not inverstigated; from the GR the latter would appear to be the NE pinnacle in the E-W orientated church, although all 4 pinnacles are of equal height and shape.

It is the NE pinnacle, judging from the co-ords, related to the co-ords of the 'centre' - see the separate TP page. Did you know that Wetton is famous only for its annual toe wrestling competition?
