I come nearby to collect my daughter from Brownies most weeks, and have wondered round the church grounds on more than one occasion. I found the Tower, and the pinnacle. An interesting location

The pinnacle is at the north-east corner of the tower. The flagstaff was also visible.

On the way home after an early shift at work in Bristol. Parked in the car park to the north. A nice church - smaller on the inside than it appears! Top of weather vane on the most prominent pinnacle is 120ft above ground level according to the visitors' leaflet.

The Church of St John the Baptist stands next to Wickwar Road, just to the north of the wide main street of the town. The trig station consisted of a flagstaff, a roof bolt and a pinnacle. The church was open but there was no access to the tower roof. The church is Grade I listed and mostly dates from the 14th and 15th centuries. A stream lies to the north of the churchyard and Wickwar Road to the east runs up to the handsome High Street of old stone built shops and houses.
