There is one prominent pinnacle on the tower that can be assumed is the intersected station. Cut benchmark clearly visible at the left side of the entrance to the church.

The Church of St John the Baptist is on the eastern edge of the village of Colerne which stands on a spur of the Cotswolds to the northeast of Bath. The churchyard was entered from the village square. The pinnacle and flagstaff could be clearly seen on its tower. The church was open but there was no access to the roof to see if the bolt was still in place. The view from the churchyard is restricted by the perimeter wall. The neighbouring houses and streets of the village are to the north and west; the top of another Cotswold spur can be seen to the east and the top of Box Hill to the south. The 15th century church is a Grade I listed building. There is a cut benchmark on the western corner of the church and the grave yard has some impressive old monuments.
