Continuation of a 14.5mile circuit from Ticknall. From Pistern Hill, NW along Coal Ln, across the A514 then followed bridleway to Brook St. Where Brook St turns towards Fairview Farm I continued ahead with another bridleway that follows the valley to Red Ln. Took the PROW through Sledge Wood and fields beside a small stream to emerge on Mount Pleasant Rd. Along streets of Repton to pick up the PROW leading up Askew Hill from Burdet Way. Pillar is located among nettles in a small copse just off the PROW . A few weeks later and it would have been a couldn't find it !!

Nearly logged as a 'Couldn't find it'. Out on a walk with my mates, Tracker Dog and Rubber Ball. In searching for the trig, the copse it's in is smothered in nettles and bramble, so while they enjoyed a cuppa I went for a hunt and couldn't find it. Only by having a last look on the way back to the FP to Repton did TG spot it. It's in the W corner of the copse, not readily visible from the FP approach from the W. It's just visible if you step two/three metres N off the path at the W corner and two/three metres in from the copse's edge. Good views from the N of the copse. My legs are still stinging.

Parked in the signposted car park near the roundabout in the village. Repton must have a very posh school as there were loads of blazers wandering around from lesson to lesson giving the village a scholarly air. Nice church too. Walked down High St, Askew Grove to find Burdett Way. The FP is signed and leads to an overgrown field that was dryish today but won't always be. After that the path goes behind houses to lead to the copse containing the trig. Easy to spot today. Good condition, OS cap, metalwork intact. Nice pleasant rural views, a very easy pillar to visit.
