Drove right up to the end of the road where there was parking at a track entrance. 5 mins and we were back at the car. Trig is in a bit of a compound which necessitated a fence hop. With Nozzer.

Found safe parking at the end of a very long passing place to the west at ND198546. Approached trig site from the north leaving the road and via the woods at ND204547. Then a beeline route up through rough pasture, passing the NE corner of small wood to the trig field. The trig itself is overtopped by the summit of Gallow Hillock on Backlass Hill and the house beyond so not disturbed. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre cap with deep indented letters. Flush bracket faces southwest, compass measurement 239°. Vented through left (NW) sight hole. Limited open outlook, partly blocked by nearby woods and overtopped by true summit.

From B870 past Houstry to house near trigpoint. Asked permission to visit and readily given. The owners have 2 dogs a Collie and German Shepherd so beware as they are running free. Took gate to trig field and then had to climb a barbed wire fence to hug it.

Made way too much heavy weather of this one! Parked on the Watten - Mybster road between the two marked routes to the trig shown on the OS map. As such made my way through fields of long, wet rashes getting soaked. Pillar is in very good condition with all fixtures in place. Open views, though not a 360 panorama due to tree planting. Returned to Watten - Mybster road on the more easterly of the two marked tracks which is an access road for some of the dwellings.

Caithness. Drove up the track to find the trigpoint visible and not far away but behind a couple of difficult fences and in a field with a horse. There were people around near the cottage who were watching curiously so we just viewed with binoculars and took a photo.

Pillar was in a fenced off field with a horse for company. Despite being in a remote location, some people and their barking dogs came out of the only house for miles, so we didn't attempt to get closer than the roadside.
