OS record this destroyed October 1983. The line of the new sea wall/defences follows the same line as when the clock tower was here. It was located in the big semi-circular line of the wall.

Gone - nice promenade though which has suffered a bit of damage in recent weeks in the bad weather - large lumps of concrete missing and fenced off.

Agreed ted - I looked for the rivet at almost same location in April 2011 and saw no sign of a clock tower

Didn't see a clock tower when visiting for the ex-rivet although only 53 metres separation. Checked the OS trig marks database which says 'Dest 10/83'
