Original lighthouse replaced by a flatpack. Viewed from the nearby Moul of Eswick hill - getting late so insufficient time to drag down the 325m to it.

Started at the end of road at Eswick and walked around coastline. Picked this one up on way. Beautiful day, great views of Whalsay and Skerries Grid ref is for replacement light. Shetland Museum has a photo of original lighthouse search for photo number JA01284 http://photos.shetland-museum.org.uk/

The original lighthouse is noted by OS as "Demolished - fallen into sea 11/94". The replacement lighthouse is a box-shaped affair. I viewed it first from the Neap block (TP10508) and then later on from Watch House pillar (TP6766).

Confirmation the Moul of Eswick Lighthouse at the above grid reference is missing following a landslip in November 1994. The photographs show the replacement light (1995)and the edge of the cliff where the previous light was.
