Long time since I've been to Baildon Moor and today it was fabulous. Great escape from the city below. Parked in cp by Baildon Common Trig. Numerous paths round and over Baildon Hill and Trig taking in views in all directions. About 6km.

Descending from Baildon Hill it was a simple matter of walking on past the golf course to find the second pillar of the day on Baildon Common. Lovely moorland strewn with boulders.

Revisit whilst driving past. Parked in the carpark just south of the pillar; access very straightforward, pillar in fine condition although the paint now looks a little scruffy. Lovely views - it's a great spot.

(2327) Car park on Hawksworth Road, and then a very short walk to the pillar, which is in good condition and still retains its centre cap. Whoever did the paint job though gets a point deducted for including the spider... And @ Murchman - digging the bite sized trig videos! Pillar history: Built on the 9th of July 1947, at a cost of £8 19s 11d. Last maintained by the OS in August of 1986.

Rough and ready car park right next to the trig but we do a walk down to the edges of Hawksworth then back to the moor. Some beautiful quiet woods and valleys with Leeds and Bradford on the distant skyline contrasting with the long line of Rombalds. Fascinating spot.

Parked in the car park with all the locals and courting teenagers, scuttled over the litter and bagged a remarkable pillar. It just seems so nonchalant to be sat in this spot... It's in fine condition, with great views over to Guiseley and beyond to Leeds and Bradford.

9 mile circular on Ilkley Moor taking in Overgate Croft Farm and Rombalds Moor trigs, then drove onto Baildon Moor, bagged Baildon Common trig and walked up to Baildon Hill trig, then drove round to and bagged The Chevin non-existent trig. Clear sunny and frosty, bigger Dales mountains in cloud.

Very easy bag. The trig has its own car park, even if busy with people doing all variety of other activities. The trig itself has a recent coat of white paint, with OS plug intact and is in excellent condition. The views are grand and I could see other trig points from here, The Billing, Idle Hill, Rombalds Moor, Baildon Moor, down the Aire Valley to the buildings of Leeds, Ferrybridge. It was busy, but I had the trig to myself. If this is my last bag until the Pennine Way then it was fitting.....
