It was market day today. Unfortunately only 2 stalls were there due to the demise of a traditional market day. Had a lovely walk through the town and a mooch around the shops. Nice pa bolt on the church also.

St Stephen's Church is a Grade II* listed building, it was rebuilt c1230 with the tower added early 16thC. There is weather vane at the top of a pole at centre of the tower roof which may or may not be the FS the OS sighted to, however, there is no halyard or pulley at the top. OS also lists Centre and Bolt as components. Also 1GL Bolt and cut benchmark located on the tower's S face.

The Union flag was flying proudly for the Jubilee weekend and a groundskeeper was mowing the extensive lawn in front of the church. The tower also has a Bolt listed on OS's trig database as 1.8m SW of flagstaff but I didn't venture in and up to see where it was!
