I walked from Loyn Bridge, passed Castle Stede. I pondered the name of the pillar, neither the 1:50 or 1:25,000 map mentioned a Baines Park Wood. It was only when back home that I looked at the NLoS and found the name applies to the woodland running above the A683. An interesting summit area, with extensive views.

After a marathon four pillar walk yesterday, a return to cycling an a gentle bimble along. The signpost to the footpath from the A683 has lost its fingerboard and is lost in the hedge. Possible to leave a bike at a gate a bit further NE. Convenient gates to divert to pillar across grazing land. Caught by sudden heavy shower at top and hurriedly retreated to lee of nearby barn to wait out its passing. Good all round views.
