Stayed in Keswick at a guest house opposite the church for a walking weekend so popped over to the church. Benchmark/bolt is to the left of the door on the south west of the tower.

Visited whilst on holiday based at Low Briery on the outskirts of Keswick. The church is on the edge of Keswick town centre with panoramic views of the surrounding fells. There's a CBM with a bolt to the left at the base of the spire.

Rainy days are gifted Keswick church spire, bolt and bench mark. If it wasn't for rainy days I wouldn't have visited town nor revisited the war memorial on Castle Crag (a very fine hill). But the highlight of the day was finally finding the cave that the Professor of Adventure lived in below the crag. "Dont waste words. Jump to conclusions". MD can still be seen carved in the cave wall.

Just up the road from our hotel in Keswick. Visited early morning to find the geocache. Hugh Walpole, a local writer, is buried in the churchyard.

St John's Church, Grade II* listed, built 1838 with several extensions during 19thC. Cut benchmark and bolt LHD side tower entrance. (Why am I in Keswick at 2.30pm and not on the hill? - don't ask).
