Who knows? Viewed from the ferry to Coll. Last levelled 1980, how old is the present structure? Had a look around but nothing jumping out.

Sadly it seems another 1990s-2000s box-shaped monstrosity has replaced the original lighthouse on Dearg Sgeir. I observed it from the site of Pennygown surface block (TP8287) from where it is almost hidden by the 15m high Eileanan Glasa. I am unable to find any details on the history of the original lighthouse online.

Viewed from Salen pier on Mull it appears to be a smallish square section beacon, logged as Good but could be a newer replacement. Ferries pass close to it and should provide a good view.
