Visit by Debs. As per previous posts got to gate by reservoir and could see clear track up. Gate was chained and when I tried to find alternative route, noticed field is currently being used for lambing, so left it.

Parking tricky. Used access to reservoir and hoped no-one would come. Three sets of gates through farmyard (all clean now) and couple minutes up field track. Dead easy couple of hundred yards. Saw no-one.

beware sticky paste on top of gate at back of farmyard. Gate is apparently just on a clip and can be opened as I found out later on chatting to lad in hangars on my return. I avoided it by going over the broken gate over to the left next to the barn.

No access issues except that big gate nearest the road had been smeared along the top with something indeterminate but revolting. However, it was quieter to climb gate than open it, plenty wet grass for cleaning up afterwards!

Very good condition pillar beside mapped track. FB faces south-ish with north/south-ish sightholes open but internally blocked. Cap present with sunken lettering. Good views for the sheer lack of effort required to visit the trig. Parked in the access road to the reservoir nearby. There's also a cut benchmark on the corner of a barn on the way to the trig.

First visit. To record FB number. The pillar was completed on 1st September 1939 costing £4.10.8d. In 1947 this marker was computed for triangulation as tertairy station NT18/T14 in the Dunfermline Secondary Block. The flush bracket was levelled for height in 1964. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in April 1970. Spoke to farmer before going in. He was inquisitive about my interest in the trig pillar but was pleased to be helpful.
