An epic walk out to this lighthouse in a 40mph southerly wind. Set off from the car park, along the beach, then had to give the wife a piggy back through knee deep water to reach the island. Very atmospheric with the ruined church and the waves roaring in. Lighthouse is in good condition and I got maximum brownie points as it was our anniversary and the church is dedicated to the Welsh version of St Valentine.

Hard to tell if we saw this or not through the lashing rain, low cloud and tree-obcured view - but we think we did.

From the car park in the forest - paying a toll. Nice walk along the sand, with the tide going out. Splendid peninsular, with ruins, racks and old houses. A beacon on the south side, the trig lighthouse on NW side. Brilliant view to the mainland mountains

Pleasant walk out to the island on an incoming tide(!) from large car park to NE. Conical, whitewashed lighthouse, built c1845, redundant since 1975. A nearby older lighthouse (beacon) has been returned to service with a solar-powered navigation light atop.

Very pleasant easy walking today out to Llanddwyn Island and back from Newborough village. A spectacular view of each major mountain group of Northern Snowdonia awaits you here.
