My first trip out here for many years. Plenty of seals and one puffin that was late leaving the islands.

Unforgettable location to have had the fortune of getting to visit. The sort of place where the mere mention of its name sets the mind racing. Facebook video footage should be viewable here https://www.facebook.com/alexc1661/videos/g.824015641017307/308427406168771/?type=1

seen from St Marys, easy to get out in a boat although not to land, our boatman tells us. So Agnes in a couple of days likely to be the closest I'll get

The lighthouse can be seen from many places in Scilly, but the closest view without taking a boat is from St Agnes. Wikipedia records that 'the [Bishop] rock has room for nothing more than the uninhabited 49-metre-tall lighthouse. Building of the original iron lighthouse was begun in 1847, but it was washed away before it could be completed. The present building was completed in 1858 and was first lit on 1 September of that year'. Still functioning, so presumably it's in good condition.
