The lighthouse has some fencing around it as the location seems to be in use as a base for contractors doing sea wall repairs after winter damage. Also the decorative bike wheels shown in earlier photos have gone.

Great little lighthouse which cost £300 to build in the 19th Century, according to the information board.

This cute lighthouse is now decorated with flowers made out of bike wheels. At least it gave my bike mad husband something of interest to view in an otherwise (to him) dull morning of trig hunting.

Touched Teignmouth Lighthouse while walking from Sturminster Newton, Dorset to South Brent, Devon. I wasn't carrying a camera but if you search for a photo online you'll see that it must be one of the smallest in Britain.

Teignmouth Lighthouse stands on the end of the Esplanade on the town’s seafront. It stands just 6 metres tall and dates from 1845 and is a Grade II listed structure. It is used along with a light on nearby Powderham Terrace to align vessels for their approach to Teignmouth Harbour. It looks out to sea to the east. The red cliff of The Ness and the village of Shaldon are on the opposite side of the river to the south. The gardens and attractions of the Esplanade are to the north.
