The first trig on the SW Coast Path coming from South Haven Point in Poole, which is where we yomped from on Stage 2 of our attempt to do all 630 miles in stages. In glorious weather we dropped the car at Worth Matravers, legged it to catch two buses to the Sandbanks Ferry Terminal, averted our eyes traversing Studland Bay nudist beach, stopped off for a very expensive drink at The Pig, gazed in awe at Old Harry Rocks, bagged the trig, then descended into Swanage where we spent the night at a lovely B&B (Taunton House) which did a cracking breakfast. A great day.

Visited on a caching walk in a loop around the Studland area, this stretch along Ballard Down from Old Harry to the Obelisk. Wonderful views first of seabirds on the Pinnacles and breathtaking scenery of the white cliffs and out to sea, and then down either side to Poole Harbour on the right and Swanage Bay on the left. What better way can there be to spend such a glorious summer's afternoon?

Visited this one while on a family walk. Nice coat of white paint on trig point. Good views to the north of Poole harbour and Swanage to the south, but very windy!

Is a Dorset trig ever a let down? Photos taken way before I'd heard of this website therefore not much detail.

View East to Poole.
View West to Swanageb with my mode of transport.

The one year we didn't do our traditional Studland to Corfe walk on Bank Holiday Saturday. For whatever reason, this year we completed only a short circular walk round here and Old Harry, from Studland, but at least I was able to log the trig for the first time.
