Parked on main road in road entrance @ TQ 369 092 west bound. Walked over road bridge (Private but several cars drove over) to BW to east of Housedean Farm. Then involved a slightly tricky ascent - someone dog walking in the field (owner?) who thankfully didn't spot me as at that time I was still in the wood, the fencing around the wood was not the easiest having chicken wire along its lower half, much of the field fencing was rotted and therefore a poor base for fence climbing (I actually crawled under one corner as the best option) and a further crossing was protected by electric fencing. Nevertheless I made it but it was not the best of approaches.

On a long walk from Lewes, down through Kingston along Juggs road to meet the South Downs Way, then up to Balmer Huff, Blackcap and Mount Harry and back into Lewes. The day had started slightly misty, but had turned into a lovely sunny afternoon. Starting to get tired now, but still a long way to go.

This was a long trek from TP1440 - and does feel quite remote in the middle of the Downs. Just to W of path, by small brick covered Balmer Reservoir, with original plug. Grey and murky views; this would pay a revisit on a sunny spring day.
