I had a look for this but all I found was a load of large stones but definitely part of it in a circle. Nothing definite so wan't sure if this should be remains or destroyed. I did some research when I returned home and it turns out that it wasn't a Cairn but a standing stone..... "A standing stone traditionally marking the grave of Char, son of one of the kings of Denmark. It is approximately 3' high and 1 1/2' square at the base. A stone 1.1m high by 0.7m broad by 0.4m thick. It stands in the centre of a circular stony mound about 6.0m in diameter and 0.4m high which in turn surmounts a knoll commanding a wide view of the Corrimony district. The mound may be original but could possibly be due to clearance piled round the base of the stone. Visited 10 June 1974. This stone has now split and fallen. 1985. No trace of this standing stone was located at the date of survey and its site lies within a mound of field clearance. 22 October 1997". A shame that it was destroyed. The nearby Corromony chambered Cairn is well worth a visit.

Small easy walk up from the gate. As said remains is all that there is.

Out for a wee cycle from Cannich after some big days in Glen Affric. Chars Stone turns out to be a fairly random looking pile of, well, stones. Maybe it was one big cairn at some point in history? Edit: Nice work gerryu2.
