From Kirkton of Collace where there is good parking at the school. Core path BURR/18 through gate in deer enclosure to high point. Left & uphill over rougher ground direct to Trig. Came down fence line to NE & had to climb deer fence. Should have descended ESE.

Well hidden in Gorse Bush so take a bit of time to find it - we didn't access from the quarry side we ascended using another route a wee bit nicer but trickier.

Had this and nearby Kinnaird Hill on my list the same day as King's Seat but as that broke me in the heat, back today. Parked in a large forestry turning area at the bottom of the track and followed this up to a large gate. Through gate then across the rough ground to the trigpoint. Loads of planting going on so suspect this view won't be here for long.

Log #119. Parked by the very interesting church and followed the 'school path' up the hill and past the small mast. It is possible to reach the trig without climbing the deer fence if you skirt around the southern edge of the fence. The pillar is in good condition, with the cap missing and plugged with asphalt. Walked up from Collace Church which was disappointingly locked - this seems to be the norm in Scotland - curious building in the churchyard, a mausoleum containing a weathered but beautiful C13 chancel arch, removed from the old church. The pillar was hidden on a mound by surrounding bushes within a heather covering. I noticed Dunsinane Hill to the east, but not a witch in sight.
