Had a look at local trigpoints near to where I live and saw this one had recently been found. How they did was amazing! Decided this was one worth checking out before it would be lost to nature again. Set off form free parking spot near church (lower Mayals Rd) and walked through gardens up past Mill Lane (Where there is also free parking) and up the bridleway to sloping open ground crossed to narrow footpaths where the fun began! Had GPS so made the location area okay but the height of ferns made this tricky..35 minutes later was about to give up the chase but thought I'd take a look at one of the upper tracks where I saw a rectangular cut out of Earth cleared the debris from the centre and there she was! Great find from Andrew and Lisa I agree, looking at this at the start even knowing it was there thought it would be tricky to locate but so pleased to have done so. From bench at the top of the hill walk straight down, cross two paths, in 10m and left 25m approx., look for rectangular cut out of earth, if still there.

Established the general area with the grid reference then used a metal detector, after a couple of minutes Lisa got a strong signal, block about 3 inches below the surface.

Thought I would look again for this one. Bracken was lower but still a lot bramble about. After 30min I gave up again.

Better prepared than Dusty but a nasty place to be. Spent some time trampling down bracken, bramble and saplings before starting to probe the ground, but obviously not quite in the right place: nothing found.

SN80 T077 Block. Wearing sandals, shorts and T-Shirt I was well dressed for the hot morning walk up to the Block. From the cycle track I climbed the wooded hillside. Brambles everywhere. Out of the trees and it was head high bracken with hidden brambles. Bleeding and full of thorns I reached the location. No sign. I had a spade and probe but after about half an hour I gave up.
