Staying in the Old Hall Hotel just across the road from the church. From Room 5 I had a view of the graveyard, but not the spire. Pity. Weather so utterly foul today if I could have photographed this from the hotel room window and gone back to bed again I would have done.

Visited before before spending the afternoon on Edale Moor. A nice Church with a couple of ancient relics on permanent display within its grounds - an 18th century guide post and the remains of Eccles Cross. There's also a BM on the hotel (The Old Hall) accross the road.

St Peter's Church, Hope. Beautiful Grade I listed church, which dates back to the 14th century. All good with the spire. Right across the road on Market Place, is the Old Hall Hotel, with a flush bracket on the south west face. Visited on the way back from a walk around Kinder Scout

(1873) Grade I listed St Peter's. No CBM present, though there is a bonus flush bracket (S9067) on the pub/hotel directly across the road.

Cycled via Hope from a Derbyshire BCQ control (Derwent Reservoir where the Dambusters did their final testing/preparations with the bouncing bomb before Germany). "Hope" is what I am gifting to a "companion", their birthday was yesterday.

St Peter's. 14th Century. Saxon church on the spot before that, with an 8th Century Saxon Cross still there. Spire is in fine shape. As usual, the village was heaving with people
