Parish Church of St Sennen, Grade II* listed, 13thC origins. Shared pub/church car park adjacent. OS lists Centre, Flagstaff and Rivet as components - didn't see a FS, didn't investigate a Rivet, marked 'good' for the Centre. Cut benchmark on W face of tower.

St Sennen's Church, Sennen. Grade II mediaeval church, which dates back to the 15th century. It is the first and the last church as they put it in this part of the country! All good with the tower and centre. The flagstaff has gone. Did not investigate the rivet. There is a cut benchmark on the west face of the tower

The church has been closed due to being damaged in a lightening strike. Notices say to keep out as the pinnacles are damaged. To make up for it though, I bagged the OS Flush Bracket on the wall opposite the church doorway, number 11812.

Logged as a visit to the church door on a Sunday afternoon - I didn't make any attempt to get indoors, let alone onto the roof, so I too can't confirm the presence (or condition) of the alleged rivet.

SW63 021 Centre. Also Rivet & Flagstaff. St Sennon. I e-mailed the vicar who looks after Sennen Church (as well as St Levan & St Buryan) to see if access to the roof was possible to check on the condition of the rivet. I was told that it would not be possible due to Health & Safety considerations. I could at least log the centre. The flagstaff has gone. 'tower is unbuttressed, of three stages. The westernmost church of England' PEVSNER.
