(2820) Kays Bank a possibility for parking but East View far better. Straightforward walk down the PRoW to the pillar passing Alpacas along the way. Kilburn white horse is visible in the distance. In general good overall condition. Centre cap missing and filled in. And a crack runs along the FB side face. Nothing major though. Pillar history: Built on the 25th of February 1954, at a cost of £15 16s 6d. Last maintained by the OS in August of 1984.

Parked at the start of the FP leading up Beacon Banks. Very nice walk up with great views of the White Horse. Pillar is very conveniently located by the side of the path opposite a field of Alpacas. Although I didn't know it at the time, it was my first bag of the new Caroline Age. Beer in the Plum & Partridge afterwards.

A nice, easy pillar for a rainy day - also noteworthy as my 200th pillar. I parked up on Kays Bank in Husthwaite and headed up the good track. The trig is sat amongst the thick gorse on the north side of the track; the pillar is in fine condition albeit with a replacement, broken, cap. It also looks to have had a crack repaired at some point through the middle of it. The gorse looks to have put on some real growth since the last visitor. Some nice views to the south, and to the north in the gaps in the vegetation. I returned the same way, saying hello to a flock (?) of alpacas on the way.

Trig log 700 (there are a few repeats in there). Satisfyingly remote as a log for me - we do see distant Goole water tower just up the road from here later. Accidentally starting the walk near the one time home of Laurence Sterne; Shandy Hall in Coxwold, garden is a treat if you have time to visit, those chimneys visible from just near the trig. Lovely church and of course views of the White Horse with NY Moors and Yorkshire Dales distant in deluge. Always wanted to walk somewhere in the area other than the tremendous Sutton Bank. Looks like efforts are being made to open up for walkers, just a few possible removed signs alas. Deluge again being promised and despite a wall of humidity at one stage we have a lovely if angsty walk, loads of yellowhammers.

Parked in the Balmoral pub in Hustwaite and had a nice stroll up to the trigpoint – continued along the track and back down the lanes. Great views up to the White Horse and south to York Minster and three power stations. Was introducing my friend Del to trigpointing although I had been to several in Yorkshire with her before I started logging. Even though she knows the area well she had never been up here – just shows that trigpointing can be a great way to explore the countryside. Tried to get a photo with the White Horse in the distance.
