The village of Bridgerule straddles the River Tamar near the Cornish border between Holsworthy and Bude. The Grade I listed, 15th century Church of St Bridget stands on a hill to the east of the village. The trig station consisted of the centre of the tower and a roof bolt. The church was locked and there was no access to the tower roof. The churchyard looks across a rural landscape of rolling green fields.
