Noted as being one of the few churches in Devon to feature a Clerestory (Any high windows above eye level. The purpose to bring outside light and/or fresh air into the inner space) Others are N.Molton S,Molton Cullompton Tiverton & Poltimore. Apparently Pyworthy is home to the actor John Nettles.

SS30 T035 Bolt. No opportunity to gain access. St Swithun. Grade II star listed. Tower dates from about 1400. 4-stage tower with angle buttresses to second stage, no parapet, small, plain pyramid finials, 2-light louvred bell openings, clock, stairlight on south front, 2-light window above C19 trefoil-headed doorway approached by external flight of stairs in south-east corner, no west door or west window.
