Impressive building in a one horse type of town. Sadly has vegetation starting to sprout from some of the roof/ brickwork.

After the ugliness of neighbouring Lockerbie it was a pleasant relief to come here and find a much more typically attractive Scottish town. CBM easily found round the back of the building.

Unless mistaken, this is a Category A listed building dating from 1723, the spire replacing a cupola 18 years later. In the listing it's described as a 'Tolbooth', although must be the grandest tollbooth I've seen. There's a cut benchmark at the north corner.
