Easy spot part way between the bridge parapet and new wall for the Crow Arch Lane Industrial Estate (where I parked). Good measurements from CJO, but with just a light covering of dried (wet from heavy overnight rain) grass it was quickly found. 2" bolt in large concrete block.

West side of road in the verge. Directly opposite on the east buttress of the bridge is a half brick which is damaged. I suspect this is the former location of the Ordnance Survey bracket on the Southampton to Wimborne levelling line, "Bracket on S.E. angle of railway bridge, 20 chains S.S.E. from Ringwood Railway Station", which has been removed or stolen.

Block becoming overgrown
adjacent buttress Possible location in the brickwork of the Protruding Bracket OSBM, now missing.

SU31 T406 BLOCK. One of first blocks we have actually found on a bridge. Typically they are destroyed or missing. On west side of road, 0.5m from tarmac, 3.7m south of bridge wall and 3.4m north of new wall. This one has done well to survive the bridge roadside revamp associated with the expansion of the nearby industrial unit. On surface (after brush-up) with a 2" bolt.

Ringwood Railway Bridge Landscape showing two walls for measurement. Block can be seen just above rubbish.
Ringwood Railway Bridge Appears to have M94 stamped on it.
