Being a telecoms engineer I'm jealous of Duncan68! Location captured from bottom of tower where I suspect the GPSR was shaded from getting a good fix. Fine views today.

Flag staff is a mobile phone antenna , allowed on roof to conduct a survey on it for work , good views of the whole of the city and castle

Priory and Parish Church of St Mary, Grade I listed, c1430 with west tower added 1754-5. OS lists Rivet and Flagstaff. Latter present and correct.

Had Sunday lunch in Lancaster (at the historic Sun Inn) and wandered up Castle Hill to do a lap of the castle and this church or The Priory to give it's proper name. We were forced to come here by school on some Saturday mornings in term time ;still resent it. Tower dates from 1759, church is a lot older.
