This is where reading logs prior to a bagging expedition is vital... having spotted the benchmark rivet I was happy - wrong! Anyway, it was a pleasant walk out from my parking spot (SD 1923 7240). Took the RoW through Sowerby Lodge to the coast, easy walk N to the pillbox, passing one that had come down the low cliff and was on it's side, completely intact. This one is slipping down the bank, currently at a jaunty angle. Will return - soon. ***Re-visited 9 Dec 2019. Large bolt a little off-set from centre of the pillbox roof. NB. OS Sketch doesn't show a Witness Rivet so the one on the roof must be a benchmark.

Great location and little walk on the coast to this one. The pillbox is sliding now with quite a tilt on. Great find Chris Otley good parking near the level crossing at around SD 1974 7366.
