1" bolt 3 m to right of bush. A good find by Ted. Don't know how we missed this last time! Bloc buried 20 cm deep in soft soil. Location is in line with right-hand edge of repaired block in wall.

The OS sketch refers to two BRs (Brass Rivets presumably) on top of the wall on the N side of the road. These have gone with the cap stones on the wall replaced by cement. But the sketch also states that the block is 0.75 metres from the road edge and 0.55 metres from the base of the wall. Probing along a line parallel to the wall soon found the block to the RHS of the bush. Location at brow of hill, aligned with a seam in the road tarmac. Small bolt buried in soft soil, stones and roots - another broken trowel :( Why do the OS call this one a bolt rather than a block; the distinction in their terminology is unclear.

Sk39 T253 BOLT. GPS places this in the middle of the road. Had a probe of both verges and tops of adjacent cemented walls. Nothing obvious. Last inspected in 1988. Farmer sowing adjacent field so couldn't inspect field side of walls.
