Easy find once you know it's there, odd we all missed it, great find! Earby mentioned this at recent Triggers meet at Wooler, nice to be able to catch up with it. 2 hour parking within 0.2km to E although on a quiet Monday morning I could have parked briefly on footway. NB the green cover is fairly recent, first shows in jonglew's 2023 pics

The consensus held that the marker had been destroyed so well done to Earby Rambler for spotting it. Small rivet, easy to miss. Trig fortunate to have survived the cover replacement. Although the link to the passive station record is broken, the sketch is still available from https://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/gps/Stationpics/gif/C1SD3142.gif This shows the trig on the N side of the original circular cover, 0.89 metres from the NW corner of the block and 1.18 metres from the NE corner. Checked the measures, 1.18 confirmed but only 0.73 metres to the NW. So it appears that the W edge of the block is embedded in the sea wall. Walked along the promenade from Blackpool pier; noted 3 EABM markers (probably missed others). Daft dogs on the sea shore.

Revisit time goes quickly over 13 years since my last visit, super find earby, the chamfered rivet is tricky to spot right on the joint of the new concrete filling on the North side of the inspection cover.Very lucky survivor after all the building works and various new manhole covers. The site is now unrecognisable from my last visit with high concrete reinforcements as the area was prone to flooding in heavy storms.

Big new seawall here now, although the concrete structure on which the rivet was installed escaped unscathed, other than a new inspection hatch, which is what seems to have done for the rivet. It's roadside, and well below the level of the new wall, so no sea views from here.

The whole of the sea front has had a make over so now doesn't look anything like the pictures previously posted. Obviously this still doesn't change the condition.

Os sketch seems also to have gone. Concrete structure in Bonatti's photo has red paint on NW corner but no rivet. If in line with seaward face of sea wall as with Fleetwood then yes the new rectangular cover will have scuppered it.

Although I thought the location of the rivet was a few feet from where others thought it was, it is still defiantly missing.

Not only is the rivet definitely missing but its former location is presently unreachable. The site is within the exclusion zone for the dismantling of the MS Riverdance which ran aground on 31 Jan 2008. Walking south along the promenade from Fleetwood to Blackpool with trams for company; persistent rain heading the other way 8-()

Looks from sketch (OS passive station database) that current rectangular lid replaced a circular one. Rivet disappeared. Low mark because locn. is another dogs latrine.
