Visited on an open day. Had a demonstration of bell ringing and got onto the tower roof. No sign of the bolt before noting a plaque stating the roof was replaced in 2010. Centre and flagstaff present. Bolt assumed destroyed.

Was on way through Tiverton but managed to grab a photo of the tower from some way off. Flagstaff and centre good. Bolt assumed to be at the top of the tower and hence inaccessible.

The imposing Church of St Peter is situated on the northern fringe of the town centre. The trig station consisted of the centre and a roof bolt and flagstaff on the tower. The church was open but there was no access to the roof. A flagstaff still stands on top of the tower. Tiverton Castle is to the north of the church and the western boundary of the church yard is at the top of a cliff overlooking the River Exe to the western suburbs of the town and a small hill beyond. The church is a Grade I listed structure dating partly from the 15th century with Victorian restoration. I noted monuments both in the churchyard and inside the church, the statues on the porch, the stained glass, screen, font, paintings and kneelers of being of particular interest.

Also Bolt & Flagstaff listed at location. A Grade 1 listed parish church. Dating from the 15th century. Several restorations have been undertaken,1825-1829 by G.A Boyce & 1853-1856 by Edward Ashworth of Exeter. The church was described by Nikolaus Pevsner as "A gorgeously ostentatious display of civic pride" Church is also noted as being the location of the 1st performance of Mendelssohn's Wedding March, which was performed by Samuel Reay at the wedding of Dorothy Carew & Tom Daniel on 2nd June 1847
