Pulled in on west side of road to south east of the clump of trees. West along field boundary on south side of remains of a dry stone wall. Near to clump, crossed wall and headed north along east side of field, trees to west. Near north end of trees went through woods to look through into field to north. No sign of pillar. Hoped it would be in open ground. Wishful thinking. Looked along the hedge line from the west side, moving slowly north. After about a hundred metres or so began to lose height so went through hedge and moved slowly south looking into hedge. Spotted pillar covered in ivy and up against the bushes in the hedge. To work. Plastic cap in place. Low number so probably an early pillar. Reasonable views from the pillar but on the way up from the road there are excellent views to the far south across the countryside.

Parked in the lay-by west on the A424 and walked up to the trees. Hidden in the hedge which is a shame with all the clear space around it, but again had the lovely views to the east

Short walk along the field boundaries, Trig in hedge & covered in ivy. No jumping off this one, but it was Maisie's 400th trig. Views N & NW ( other side of the hedge ) not to bad.

Thought this might be a beggar to bag, but actually a lovely stroll from the A424 layby via the field boundaries. The left turn after the wood might have been an awkward scramble up a bank, but lots of rocks in the embankment made it easy going. Pillar itself is embedded in a hedge, and top was inaccessible, but pillar and FB were easily reachable, and in the other direction, some stunning views over the countryside. A surprisingly enjoyable little walk.

Parked in a rough lay-by slightly to the south-west of the clump, and walked around two fields of what looked like young lettuce (in November?) through the scruffy woods to find the pillar in its hedge. Black plastic cap, and one sight-hole open.

Both name and also a numerologically significant number is on the flush bracket. Very few 14** series pillars and it represents for me my dad's birthday trig walk as he was an Easter Sunday April fool born 1/4/23 so this would've been his 72 nd birthday pillar just acouple of years before his last hill walk with me on Skye two years later. ,I'm his oldest child and I was born in Blackheath. Triggy memories dad.

Parked at field entrance on minor road to SE. Field boundaries to trig, found well encased in hedgerow with an ivy and nettle overcoat! Ran across with no pack, so no gardening tools... Doh! Cleared what I could with hands and boots, but a lot left to be cut back, particularly to clear the top. Pillar in reasonably good condition, small chipping from one corner of top screed. Made no notes for some reason, but remember it had a composite centre plug; sight holes unknown. Good views E to Milton Down.

The hedge was hugely overgrown, and even 30 mins of rummaging failed to reveal it. I was in the right place, according to other pics, but it is now well covered. Winter will no doubt reveal it
