Parked just off A75 at start of track to the trig. The clag that had ruined the views today was lifting revealing the distant hills.

Drive up on new logging road not in use yet, gate not locked, last ~300m on good grass track but steeper. Pillar retains original centre cap, raised lettering; rear sight hole unsealed, other 3 have plugs all degrading to one extend or another. Panoramic views.

Parked in what was entrance of track leading to this pillar. The A75 was currently being realigned northwards onto the bed of the former railway line so there was the site to negotiate first. Then continued northwards up the farm track. Open grazing top. Tertiary station pillar completed 4th December 1954 costing £15.10s.0d, and still in good condition. Spider has replacement OS centre cap with raised small narrow letters. Flush bracket faces 212° SSW. Vented through NE sight hole. Almost full 360° panorama over surrounding conifers.
