My first surface trig, very easy to find, parked in the layby close by, came across it before I realised I'd got to it's location. Actually took me longer to get out the car due to the appalling weather for April than it took to find it. Great condition.

Failed at Barbrook, but found this one easily. Heading SW on main road from Owler Bar there is a layby on the off side with a bus stop. About 30 yards further on there is a signed bridle way to the left, and a gate through the wall on the right leading to a gently climbing path. As you reach the top of this rise a larger path crosses and the block is easily spotted just on your left. No stake seen.

Eon's photo clinched it, the block was covered in vegetation and I was stood on top of it. The stake and path junction are very obvious on the ground. Just off the PDB walk (lovely section). Gifted to the actress Samantha Morton on Desert Island Discs today, such an honest account of her very traumatic childhood.

(1862) Layby/bus stop on the A621 for parking. Short walk back to the start of the minor path, then another short walk to the block's location. Soon found as still largely uncovered. Nice 2" bolt with BM cut.

Found with the help of the photographs and a park ranger. The old wooden post referred to is just a bit of a stake at the side of the path. The dome of the rivet was almost exposed and easy to find once I had the correct location.
