Parked on the main Waternish road and walked the minor road until a gate led onto the hill. Made for the obvious summit and started stabbing and digging. After 20 mins, nothing. Now I always find the Trigpointing App very accurate but had neglected to look at it on this occasion. On consulting the map, I seemed to be well off where the bolt should be. I followed the map to a less obvious spot some 40m west of the actual summit. Here there was a rocky depression with a small mound of stones. Now, this is usually a good sign, so started stabbing and digging. 5 minutes later, hey presto. Nice 1” bolt set in its cement bed. So, like pillars, bolts aren’t always on the obvious summit.
