Did clockwise loop from block near Overton, on lane toward Shipton, then South on A19. Thankfully nit much traffic. Briefly paused at first three manholes but much overgrown and didn't seem likely. The fourth much clearer and the rivet easily seen. Turned off main road toward Overton and retraced on cycleway back to York.

(2823) Parked in layby to the S, and walked the verge to the BT manhole cover - there are several of these dotted along the way. Rivet soon found - SE corner of surround. All good.

Standard 1/4" rivet in SE corner of BT manhole surround. Easy spot, bumped up onto narrow grass verge on fast road to park within metres of it.

quarter inch rivet on SE corner of double telecom cover e side of road. Heading N, easiest to park in field access 100m N and walk back, ignoring first triple cover. A19 busy even on a drizzly early sat am

Got a bus out from the city centre (how ironic, from a bus driver..) to add a wee rivet to the collection. Walking over to Towthorpe next then make my way back to town.

Not the best of the day! Constant traffic on the A19 makes this not a quality experience. There is a lay by about 200m south of the manhole cover. The cover itself is on the east side of the A19, gets a 2 cause it wasn't raining.

Log #54. (14m). #30 or 31 bus from Station Ave, York. Logged on 12.3km walk from Skelton to Towthorpe. Beautiful day, heavy traffic along A19. This trig at manhole covers to E of A19 & N of New Farm. Difficult walking to this with proximity to busy road noise, but if visiting by car, there is a lay-by just S of New Farm on E side of road. Nothing worthwhile here - no views, only a rivet that you need to remove turf growth to get at.

Rivet positioned in the corner of two manhole covers next to the busy A19 road into York. We were able to park in a layby about 200 metres away.

Rivet concreted next to a double BT cable access point at the side of the road, relatively easy to find. The A19 is an extremely busy road so take a bit of care when bagging this trig.

I was staying at the nearby Ramada Jarvis hotel, so I took the opportunity to log this one - before breakfast! An uninteresting verge location on the busy A19.
