Weather dreadful so happy to get to Linlithgow but time reduced so no hotine hunting today. Trusty trigging screwdriver and pacing out distance (16.2m from roadsign) eventually got a hit that seemed bigger than a small stone. Hacking and pulling eventually exposed a large flat block with a big brass bolt - really tough ivy thick as a finger in places. Left partly recovered to aid next visitor. Parking in road few yards from block.

Block.

Half hour of prodding and removing skin from palm of hand. Suspect I'm too close to the road. Next time I'll have the machete and spade as it's very overgrown with nettles and ivy.

Must be on the LHS banking.
