Craigmailen Church was built in 1883 and is based on St Giles, Edinburgh. Certainly, the lantern top seemed Edinburgh-like. My first visit to Borrowstounness, (can understand the reason for the shortened version!) and enjoyed a stroll through the town. Particularly liked the Town Hall & Carnegie Library, (although the library moved out some time ago), and the 1912 Hippodrome Cinema, apparently Scotland's oldest surviving picture house. Then of course to the football at Newtown Park (loved the terracing), where the beautiful game has been played since 1886. Isn't that an amazing fact? Lovely visit: Bo'ness United 2-1 Albion Rovers - poor Wee Rovers, how they have fallen. But they had my support for what it's worth!
