Walked in from the free car parking at Scawgill Bridge to the west climbing the very steep Broom fell first. Very easily found the block under the shallow stones only gloves required for this one. Big 3 inch brass bolt in good condition. Also an OS benchmark rivet found which corresponds to old maps positioning.Very busy on the tops today excellent panoramic views. Another super find CJO and bagging assistant.

On round of Wainwrights from Winlatter Visitor Centre: Winlatter - Brown How - Graystones - Broom Fell - Lord's Seat - Barf. Only saw a couple of other walkers. Super views of clouds skidding past Skiddaw. Had a look round for block, but didn't probe. There's exposed bed-rock on summit so why a buried block?
