Walked out on a good path with good parking at Cogra Moss. Misty at first but clear at the summit with good views even the Isle of man was visible. Took about 20 minutes to dig down to the plate through the sticky soil and small stones. Nice brass bolt in a recessed compartment. Super find Chris and bagging assistant could be the best yet with the views today.

2.5” bolt, 5.6m east of centre of wind shelter. 18” deep under metal plate. Refilled with small rocks. Marker is - immediately adjacent to a bent over metal fence (?) post banged into ground and flush to ground. Polo mint packet wrapper found in base of hole. Replaced plate, covered with a variety of sizes of rocks, some soil and then turf. Placed two large rocks on top. Bagging Assistant’s persistence found this one.

Area of Block Dusty here 4 days previous and couldn’t find it. Can still see where he’d been digging

Some of the worst weather I can recall experiencing on top of a hill for a long time. Had to take shelter in the shelter. Lessened the chance of finding a buried block as you may imagine. Left empty handed.

Lake District summits are either eroded and blocks are exposed as on Grisedale Pike or compressed into a concrete like material - this is like the latter. No chance without wire and spade. Weather was Baltic anyway. Good views.

Please find the block, it's here somewhere.
