Hole marked with boulder readily found - thanks. Removed > 120 stones before losing count. Large bolt slightly off-centre relative to the concrete ring. Impressive views on a bright and chilly day. Mini-cairn reinstated.

As per logs, look for the stone and get ready to temporarily (and carefully remove then replace and recap the hole....about 12 inches depth. Having a civil engineer as company made it interesting!

The glorious twelfth and a jaunt to orienteer on Eycott Hill (2 Birketts) amongst other things. Event parking outside CWT car park and just below this ring. An easy find due to the location photo by Peregrinus. It took an AWFUL lot of excavation and was assisted by the terrier once loose rocks/debris was removed. A hidden gem...all debris was "chucked" back in the hole. The 4 actors in the classic "The 39 Steps" at TBTL are gifted this ring, a superb adaption of this book/film. So much fun and energy went into the performance that I was exhausted after watching it.

Nice find! As per CJO description and OS sketch, in top of bank in line with large ?ash tree and Saddleback lefthand summit. I moved back the large boulder mentioned by OS, leaving it in place and removing the stones to reveal 2 inch bolt. Stones replaced. Gloves useful but no tools needed. Nice views including Carrock where I was an hour earlier for the non BB

Small ruinous (but undisturbed) cairn some 10m to north of area of stones which look to have been dug in the past. Concrete ring approx 30cm deep, bolt at 50cm. 2.5” dia bolt. Left with a more obvious cairn atop. Tree by wall and conifer by second mound vs highest peak of Saddleback are the markers, plus about 68m from wall.

Nice spot, GR indicated the block might be at the summit of this small elongated hill. Found a small cairn of large rocks, moved them aside, ground rocky but soil dry. Dug down half a metre over space of half an hour - then gave it up as a bad job. Back-filled the hole, replaced the cairn and decided BB's can go hang.
