In glorious sunshine and on superb grassy paths, did 5 of the Uldale Fells including Knott. Didn't disturb any stones, but contented myself the block was around somewhere near.

OS file states, Block is situate on highest point of hill. No sketch apparently. https://trigpointing.uk/wiki/File:Cumbria-TP16531-Knott-BuriedBlock.jpg GPS initially indicated cairn but soon settled just to SW of cairn. A few small trial holes. Hard ground, no clues, needs accurate GPS fix or good luck.

GPS location SW side of cairn, backpack marks the spot

From head of Mosedale and along the Cumbria way to the sheepfold for 4 miles to Great Calva, on to Little Calva and finally Knott. A very wet crossing to all the tops and in cloud all the way. Didn’t have any prodding tools or digging equipment to look for BB

Spent a bright cold day bagging some Wainwrights, including Knott. Glorious views, with a dusting of snow on the higher ground. No sign of the block but we didn't bother to prod around, as previous attempts to find blocks buried on mountain summits have all failed.

Bagged Knott as part of a circular taking in Longlands Fell, Lowthwaite Fell and Great Calva, bagged Binsey trig later that day. Glorious weather.

Rocky ground, not much turf, not easy to see this being buried too deep, but despite prodding in area indicated by GPS, this was no success story - as expected.
