I have tried but completely failed to find any history on the 'Lookout Tower', and there is absolutely no trace on the ground that any kind of structure ever stood on the spot the GPS took us to. However, Ross Links and Sands is among the finest stretchs of coastline Northumberland has to offer, so no excuse should be needed to come here, have a pointless potter about in a field for 2 minutes and then carry on over the links to the beach - you will not regret doing so, believe me, the area is stunning.

Walking out from the beach to a stashed bike at the road end. Over from the A1 at Beal via Holy Island and a high water crossing to Ross. Nothing there.

Long gone. All that remains and gives a clue - is the two coastguard houses which now appear to be holiday lets.

Ross Links Lookout Tower Nothing visible, Coastline must have moved over the years.

Passed this on the way to the beach at Ross Sands. There's no sign of the tower at all.
