Up from Troutbeck Bridge, following a stony track which used to be popular with off-road vehicles but none seen today. Simple find; detector plate already exposed, bolt easily excavated. Overcast, cool, breezy day.

Walked from Kentmere up Garburn Pass very steep. Soon found the plate but took some digging out. First time lifting one of these plates. Nice bolt excellent find Rob good views mist lifting but a chilly breeze on top. Refilled the hole and placed the lid for the next visitor. Last here about 12 years ago doing the wainwright's no views that day with mist but clear today.

2 inch bolt, in bedrock/concrete sloping a little, about a foot down, under a typical Lakes style half metre cast iron Do Not Disturb cover plate which was under an inch of turf, approx 2m W of the tiny summit cairn, 1m E of exposed flat rock. I re-covered it with slaty stones then replaced soil, plate and turf. Chilly drizzly morning, first outing of the day, left Garmin in car and phone GPS location looked unlikely. So I probed the obvious level spot and found the marker plate immediately.

a very early start from Shropshire and I was already on my 2nd wainwright by 9am. this one -Sallows- had the most pitiful cairn ever on it.. one pyramidial stone about 5" tall!! was all rough grass surrounding. no obvious signs of a block.. didnt hang about.
