2 inch bolt in concrete ring a foot down, east of main path, S side of small path, easy find under branches and a broken light duty drain cover, surprising if the OS used this originally. Great find thanks Mick n Kim. Easy access from estate to SW

Impressive excavation by MickandKim. Hole with covering branches and lid easily found; estimated 28 ft E from the main footpath. If the metal lid was originally above the bolt then it might have been placed there deliberately by the installers to assist in relocating the trig. The location is beyond two silver birch trees, both with bent, moss-covered trunks. Extra-large countersunk bolt offset from centre of the ring. Urban area with tree cover - no views; much changed since the block was installed in 1952. Branches reinstated with a few more added but suspect the ring will soon be discovered by locals.
