2 inch bolt recessed in block with ring, surrounded by circle of marker stones. Unusual location partway up slope. From W, unmapped path follows foot of access land then rising traverse to trig. Brackeny

Approached from SW; rough moorland. Alignment with the house with 5 chimney stacks down in the valley helped establish the location. Ring still exposed; bolt countersunk. Hole was dry despite recent rain. Hartshead Pike, pylons and Manchester tower blocks prominent in the distance. Good find by M&K.

Visited whilst on day out around area with Painterman61, our first trip out together since 14th March 2020. We made our way up on the footpath to the South West which runs up the South side of the ravine to GR SD 99266 00484. Then we made our own way across the moor which was pretty easy going. (Brilliant find Mickandkim)

Good walk up on paths then unusual descent to the location, Ring found exposed with bolt embedded into the concrete. Super views great find Mick and kim.

Did not look for the buried block. Nice walk over from Swineshaw Reservoir. Block on the moor near to the walk
